Dropped out of college
Don't have the mind
Got a TV
Watch it all the time
TV showed me
That I'm pretty smart
'Cause I make fire
And I make art

I got a cousin
Just sits around
I kind of like him
He's a natural clown
I guess it runs
In my family
I guess a monkey
Made a man out of me

  Let's rock tonight
  They say that we're monkeys
  I'm thinkin' they're right
  Monkey seed, monkey dude
  Such a bad monkey
  In such a good mood

Sharper mind
Sharper clothes
What once were fingers
Are now only toes
Monkey jobs
Monkey games
I may be going bald
But I got a bigger brain

Making money
Making art
Making music
Makes me smart
All agree
Every expert
They say we're monkeys
Though the Lord says we're dirt

  Don't get Cross with me
And don't go Tao on me
I plainly see what we're worth
Just a bunch of rock hard bones
Rock hard bones in the earth

  Let's rock tonight
  They say that we're monkeys
  I'm thinkin' they're right
  Monkey seed, monkey dude
  Such a bad monkey
  In such a good mood

Dropped out of college
Don't have the mind
Got a TV
Watch it all the time
My beliefs
May be a sin
But I'd rather be a monkey
Than dust or a rib

  Let's rock tonight
  They say that we're monkeys
  I'm thinkin' they're right
  Monkey seed, monkey dude
  Such a bad monkey
  In such a good mood
